All 2008 Digital TrailMAC cameras come standard with an optically coated polycarbonate lens. This coating provides 99.99% light transmission and greatly reduces glare both from the sun during the day, and the camera flash at night.

This is a very similar coating to those found on rifle scopes and high quality binoculars. The coating is very easy to notice by the bluish hue seen on the lens.
